ABOUT

Christopher J. Bruno

When I was injured, I called Chris because I knew him as a detail man and a fighter. I now refer my personal injury cases to him because he not only has experience as a seasoned attorney but he served as a judge for 12 years. I don't know anyone as knowledgeable as Chris Bruno.

Chris Bruno has more than 30 years of legal experience, most of which has been dedicated to handling personal injury cases.

He also served as a state court judge for 12 years. Throughout his career, he has handled more than 12,000 contested matters and more than 1,490 trials.

Chris believes in justice and the right of every person to receive it. He was inspired to become a lawyer after watching his father treat all participants in the judicial system with respect and dignity, regardless of their status in society or how much money they had – and he vowed to do the same.

After graduating from Tulane University Law School, Chris developed an illustrious career as a legal advocate. He quickly became known as a formidable adversary and garnered respect from the legal community by zealously representing clients.

Chris was appointed by the Louisiana Supreme Court as Judge Pro Tempore in 2004. In 2009, he was honored to be elected by his constituents and began his judicial career as a Division F Judge of the Civil District Court Orleans Parish. He was later elected as the Chief Judge of the Civil District Court.

Part of that tenure included time as a domestic relations judge, during which the litigants were often without a lawyer. In these situations, Chris often dealt directly with the parties, which allowed him to resolve the case through settlement rather than trial. Chris also provided free mediation services to help bridge the gap between litigants in several cases.

Since transitioning back into private practice, Chris has stood firm in his commitment to his clients, who are free to contact him at all hours of the day. He is dedicated to consistent accessibility and communication for each and every one of his clients.

Throughout his career, Chris has provided education to other lawyers in the state at local bar association meetings. He has received an AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell – the highest rating for a lawyer in ethics and practice. A musician and tennis player, Chris Bruno is also dedicated to civil service and the arts in Louisiana.
