Kiefer & Kiefer has filed a lawsuit in the Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans.

We represent an Amazon delivery driver who was delivering packages to a home in New Orleans.  When he went onto the porch to leave the package, he was attacked by the homeowner’s dog who was outside and unleashed.  Our client sustained a fracture of his femur and almost $100,000 of medical bills and has been out of work for six months due to the incident.

The insurance company did not offer him any money to compensate him for this trauma, and we have filed suit against the homeowner and their insurance company.  We brought claims of both general negligence and strict liability to get our client fairly compensated for what happened to him.

This case is being handled by our partner, Megan Kiefer.

We have discussed how we prove cases involving animal bites, dog bites, or other animal attacks in prior blog posts.  Read https://www.kieferandkiefer.com/blog/2019/7/20/who-is-responsible-for-a-dog-bite-or-an-animal-attack-in-louisiana for more details.
